Technical Product Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Product Manager to join our dynamic product organization. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technology and business, driving the development of cutting-edge products that meet customer needs and align with our strategic goals. You will work closely with engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions with a strong technical focus.

We are seeking an experienced candidate for the position of Technical Product Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the product engineering roadmap, ensuring alignment with product objectives and delivering the PRD requirement.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility, scalability, and reliability of product solutions.
• Analyse the product requirement for delivery feasibility
• Build technical skills essential to deliver the product requirement agreed with product managers
• Lead the product development lifecycle with a focus on delivering high-quality, technically robust solutions.
• Evaluate and make strategic decisions on whether to build in-house solutions or leverage third-party vendors, balancing cost, time, and resource constraints.
• Conduct thorough assessments of potential solutions, including technical capabilities, scalability, and long-term fit with the company’s technology stack.
• Work closely with stakeholders across the organization, including engineering, architecture, and business teams, to develop technically sound solutions that meet business requirements.
• Facilitate clear communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
• Take ownership of the development budget, ensuring that all product development activities are cost-effective and within the allocated budget.
• Monitor and manage expenses related to product development, including software, tools, third-party services, and personnel costs.
• Act as a technical subject matter expert, guiding the team on best practices and emerging technologies.
• Work closely with architects and developers to make informed decisions on technical trade-offs and implementation approaches.
• Ensure that products meet security, compliance, and performance standards.
• Ensure technical development, appropriate skills required for the development, maintenance is managed and nurtured.
• Liaise with design, product management teams to ensure cohesive product development and launch strategies.
• Provide technical insights during the creation of marketing and sales materials, product documentation, and customer demos.
• Gather and analyse customer feedback to inform technical product decisions and enhancements.
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success, with a focus on technical performance metrics.
• Analyse product performance data to make data-driven decisions and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor and guide junior product managers and team members with a focus on technical product management skills.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration within the product team.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field. 
• A master's degree or MBA is a plus.
• 5-7 years of experience in technical management with a strong technical background, ideally within [specify relevant industry, e.g., SaaS, automotive, IoT, Media, Healthcare products.].
• Proven track record of delivering technically complex products, with experience managing the full product lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience with software development, cloud computing, APIs, or related technical domains.
• Experience in deploying products and supporting issue resolution of the deployed products
• Demonstrated experience in making strategic build vs. buy decisions, evaluating both in-house development and third-party solutions.
• Ability to assess technical capabilities, costs, and long-term viability of different solutions.
• Experience in managing and owning a development budget, ensuring that all expenditures are justified and within budget constraints.
• Ability to balance cost management with the need to deliver high-quality, innovative products.
• Experience in working with cross-functional stakeholders, including engineering, architecture, and business teams, to develop and deliver technical solutions that meet business needs.
• Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, development processes, and modern technologies (e.g., microservices, cloud platforms, AI/ML).
• Proficiency in product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Aha!) and technical documentation.
• Ability to read and understand code, with experience in languages such as Python, Java, or similar, being a plus.
• Handson experience in developing protypes and solutions.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down complex technical problems and develop actionable solutions.
• Data-driven approach to product management, with experience in using analytics tools to inform decisions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven leadership skills with experience in mentoring and guiding technical teams.
• Strong focus on delivering value through technically sound and innovative products.
