Customer Premise Equipment and its underlying technologies have undergone a paradigm shift. Operators responsible for supplying CPE devices such as STBs or routers face challenges in ensuring an excellent customer experience. Inefficiencies in promptly resolving firmware issues and defects have led to potential delays for end customers. Upgrading CPE devices to the latest standards and technology can be time-consuming, causing customer dissatisfaction. Implementing custom features and fixes thus presents substantial challenge for operators.

The introduction of RDK firmware and its community helps address these challenges by giving operators greater control over the CPE devices. RDK allows operators to define their own roadmaps, features and prioritise offerings for customers.
